Ever find yourself tired of the choices campus foods have to offer? Are you health conscious but reluctant to give up the taste of well-made food? Head over to 15th and South St’s hidden gem, The Quick Fixx, which aims to deliver “chef-inspired convenience.” The business model of the restaurant is to make food reflecting the culinary qualities of higher end restaurants for healthy people living on limited budgets. It offers cook-to-order pastas with gourmet sauces and fresh salads with homemade dressings. Along with a pre-fixe menu, you can also choose to build your own dish out of a variety of ingredients the restaurant has to offer.
The dish I tried was the Pasta Fresca ($8): a blend of fresh pasta, tomato, mozzarella, basil, and aglio e olio with a dash of freshly crushed pepper. It was also available with whole wheat or gluten free pasta to match different lifestyles. The sauce was not as rich as that found in classic Italian resturants so the the dish never became ‘too much’. The portions given were also very generous, making this a prime choice for your next fun date in the city or co-ed group hangout.
My favorite aspect of this restaurant (besides the delicious meal I had) was the friendly service and the gorgeous venue. I went on a sunny afternoon and was able to sit right next to the glassless window and enjoy the view. There’s something special about the atmosphere of a room when the outside world and the inside space collides.
The Quick Fixx also offers free delivery for those who want a taste without the hassle so order online now and be amazed at what this cozy restaurant has to offer!
