Believe it or not, wearing your pajamas outside of your bedroom is losing its infamous reputation as a fashion don’t, as it becomes a Spring 2012 fashion do. Pajama-inspired dressing presents an alluring new eveningwear option for spring. It has been around for a few seasons now; Jessica Alba wore this Dolce & Gabbana ensemble a while back, and Rihanna has been seen sporting it as well, recently seen wearing this on her Battleship tour. While taking the leap of going head-to-toe in PJ’s like these ladies is still not in the cards for us (sorry, guys), you may want to let bits of the boudoir inspire your style.
Don’t know where to start? Here are some suggestions:
Try a clean white top like this one with dark jeans or shorts for a casual yet cute look. You can even wear it to work. According to Ann Taylor, bright pencil skirts are a must this spring and summer, and the pajama jacket is the perfect complement. Pajama pants and shorts are just as easy to wear. With patterned bottoms, stick to basic tops and add a blazer to show that you’re serious about it, but still having fun. Silk and satin are the most flattering, but cotton can be quite comfortable in the daytime or by the beach.
Do: pair with slipper shoes for the ultimate pajama party.
Don’t: pair a pajama top with pajama bottoms outside of the house.

The pajama trend is perfect for day and night (and we don’t mean sleeping). It’s definitely a Spring 2012 trend to try!
