If you haven’t heard of Blogilates,then you’ve been missing out on this fabulous and easy workout trend. Run by Cassey Ho, a Pilates instructor stationed on the West Coast, this blog (and its super chic blogger!) was named the Best Healthy Living Blog of 2012 by FITNESS Magazine. Cassey makes Pilates a fun and accessible routine for those who want more than the usual cardio or weight training workout.
She has separated her videos into two different series that starts with a beginner routine, either POP Pilates for Beginners: Total Body Workout or POP Pilates for Beginners: Ab Time. In these beginner videos, Cassey spends time explaining each move so that novices can easily pick up the routine. For the quickest and best results, Cassey recommends using any combination of her videos three times a week for an hour at a time. Easy, right?
One of her favorite fitness gurus, Tosca Reno, believes that a lean and healthy physique depends 80% on diet, 10% on workouts, and 10% on genetics. So, Cassey has expanded her blog to include her diet notes as well. Her most popular “diet plan” is the 90 Day Challenge. The challenge has simple guidelines, such as drinking 3-4 L of water a day, to more time-consuming recommendations, such as specific recipes for each meal over the 90-day period. Cassey insists upon eating six small meals because eating every 2-3 hours is healthier than consuming three large meals.
